EAPs are wide spread in the US. Over 100 million American workers have access to such a service. The 2008 SHRM survey found that 75% of all businesses offered an EAP to their workforce, showing a steady growth over the last twenty years (over 200% increase in market penetration) of EAP take-up across the continent. Especially large employers and global players are more likely to implement an EAP thus making the introduction of an EAP also in their European subsidiaries a fact creating momentum also for local and nationally based companies to follow this trend.
